Special Songs: Los Angeles, Stockholm

Love Me / Love Me Not
HONNE

Eigentlich.

Special Songs: Me & You (feat. Tom Misch), Feels so good (feat. Anna of the North)

Marauder
Interpol

Special Songs: The Rover, Number 10

Weed Garden
Iron & Wine

Special Songs: What hurts worse, Waves of Galveston

And Nothing Hurt
Spiritualized

Special Songs: I‘m your man, Here it comes (the Road) let‘s go

Mission Bell
William Fitzsimmons

Special Songs: Distant Lovers, Second Hand Smoke

Wanderer
Cat Power

Dafür hat er bereits in der Single „Half as good as you“ Alice Merton („No Roots“) ins Boot holen können.

Special Songs: Jubilee Road, Half as good as you

Spotify Playlist Autumn 2018 new albums in fall 2018

Summer is almost over and it’s time to think about the right music for the fall. We’ve been looking for 8 new albums that have been released in the last few days or will be released in the next few weeks. From this we have created the Spotify Playlist Autumn 2018 with our favorite songs. In addition to the individual albums you will also find the matching Spotify playlist with either the entire album or the singles that have been released so far.

Cheyenne
Conner Youngblood

Let’s start with a debut: Conner Youngblood proves to „Cheyenne“ that singer-songwriter records do not always have to be monotonous and corny. Granted, the lard factor is also given here, but relativized by the refreshing instrumentation. After all, Youngblood plays over 30 instruments, so that the album sounds like one piece and you are supported by different sounds through the songs. With the quiet sounds the need immediately arises to switch off with a cup of tea in hand. So the Yale graduate takes us on a journey through Finland, Sweden and the US and lets us dream of last summer.
Special Songs: Los Angeles, Stockholm

Love Me / Love Me Not
HONNE

The second album of a band always stokes great expectations, especially if presented well with the debut. Just like the British HONNE. „Love Me / Love Me Not“ is the name of the duo’s new album and actually joins where they left off on their debut „Warm on a cold night“. Actually. Because the new record has moved even more towards pop, without reinventing the wheel. We expect electronic sounds, various features (Tom Misch, Anna of the North, etc.) and poppy melodies paired with the quiet vocals of singer Andy Clutterburk. HONNE make the autumn a bit happier here, without becoming too enthusiastic.
Special Songs: Me & You (feat. Tom Misch), Feels so good (feat. Anna of the North)

Marauder
Interpol

As always, the mix for the right songs for fall is also important. That’s why a bit of indie should not be missing and that’s where the new album from Interpol comes in handy. In terms of guitar music, New Yorkers can always be relied on, though they’ll probably never make an album like their debut „Turn on the Bright Lights“. The melancholy typical for Interpol and especially for singer Paul Banks takes us through 13 songs on their new album „Marauder“ and shows again: Indie is not dead, but only slightly dusty.
Special Songs: The Rover, Number 10

Weed Garden
Iron & Wine

From indierock t goes back again to Singer-Songwriter and lo and behold: Even a new Iron & Wine EP is in the starting blocks due for the season. The EP is the sequel to the 2017 album „Beast Epic“ and contains, according to singer Sam Beam songs that have not made it to the album. So the 6 tracks are part of a longer narrative that he had not finished yet. All the better, because they fit perfectly in the autumn of 2018.
Special Songs: What hurts worse, Waves of Galveston

And Nothing Hurt
Spiritualized

Other old hands are busy this fall: Spiritualized. Solid guitar music and the calm voice of Jason Pierce are still very popular here and the first singles do not disappoint. The production of the album was not under a good star. After all, Pierce had to produce the single-track album himself on the PC, although he was used to studio atmosphere.
Special Songs: I‘m your man, Here it comes (the Road) let‘s go

Mission Bell
William Fitzsimmons

Another, not so old acquaintance is William Fitzsimmons. The single „Distant Lovers“ from his new album „Mission Bell“ sounds calm and relaxing as usual and also has a high emotional character. Because last summer Fitzsimmons started working on a new album. Just when it was finished, his wife confesses that she no longer loves him and has cheated on him with his bandmate. This not only led to changes in his life, but also to the revision of the album, which of course deals with the separation.
Special Songs: Distant Lovers, Second Hand Smoke

Wanderer
Cat Power

Also Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) will be back in October with a new album and has already sent a wonderful forerunner: the single „Woman“, along with Lana Del Rey. The record is said to be about her lifelong journey, Marshall said. „Wanderer“ is the tenth album of the artist and certainly a promising record, which makes the autumn a little bit brighter.
Special Song: Woman

Jubilee Road
Tom Odell

Finally, it gets a bit more pop and more romantic, because even Tom Odell has worked on a new album. He has already been able to get Alice Merton („No Roots“) on board for the single „Half as good as you“. A theatrical, usual piano-like duet, perfect for cuddly hours as a couple.
Special Songs: Jubilee Road, Half as good as you
